James Palmer's Journal - Day
Monday, November 14, 2005
I know it's been a while, but I wanted to drop in and tell everyone about the fun time I had at Philip Nutman's reading and signing at Coffee Shop of Horrors in Gainesville Saturday. There I met Phil, his wife Anya, who I'm working with on the PR committe for Mythic Journeys, the publisher of Overlook Connection Press, and various and sundry of other folks, mostly friends of the Nutmans. Phil read from his novel Wet Work, and the wife and I chatted with them and their friends about fiction and film. One of their friends showed me The new Cybermen on the store's Internet connection, and I tried one of the Shop's signature candies, an orange and chocolate M&M-like concoction called Spider Babies. While I'm not a coffee drinker, I love the horror theme decor, and it's the perfect place to attend the reading of a novel about flesh-eating zombies.
And to top it off I may get an interview with Phil out of it, hopefully for Rue Morgue. Stay tuned.
